Amy recently started a new role as an Institutional Research Manager in Academic, Planning, and Budget at UCLA.  Previously, she served as senior analyst at the UCLA Student Affairs Information and Research Office (SAIRO) where she supports institutional research, departmental and divisional assessment, and strategic planning within Student Affairs. Additionally, Amy worked in international higher education for over a decade where, among other things, she led efforts to make decisions in data-informed ways and developed a special interest in asset-minded and equity-based assessment.  She enjoys using data to evaluate common anecdotal assumptions and using analysis to advocate for policy, program, and service enhancements. Additionally, Amy enjoys teaching and supporting the work of other professionals and students who seek data-inspired insights and action. She’s been afforded many formal and informal opportunities to do this including the opportunity to serve as the lead author of the Assessment and Evaluation for International Educators Core Education Program (CEP) Workbook published by NAFSA: Association of International Educators, which covers the assessment cycle in the context of international higher education. Amy is a Ph.D. candidate and holds an M.A. in social sciences and comparative education from the Graduate School of Education and Information Sciences at UCLA.
